Pushkar Sarovar ka nirman Brahma Ji ne swayam kiya tha. Isse tirthraj ke saman maana jata hai, jo ise anya tirth sthalon se alag banata hai. Yahan par shraddhalu snan karke apne paapon se mukti prapt karne ki aasha karte hain. Pushkar Sarovar ke chaaron or 52 ghaat hain, jahan har saal kai dharmik anushthan aur sanskar kiye jaate hain.
Pushkar ka Brahma Mandir:
Pushkar mein sthit Brahma Ji ka mandir desh ka ekmatra prachin mandir hai. Yeh mandir Bharat ke anya bhaagon mein Brahma Ji ke mandiron ki anupasthiti ke karan vishesh mahatva rakhta hai. Is mandir ka vartaman swaroop 1809 mein Gokal Chand Parekh dwara banwaya gaya tha. Halanki, is mandir ki sthapana ka karyashree Adi Shankaracharya ko jaata hai, jinhonne 713 E.S.V. mein is mandir ki murti ki sthapana ki thi. Shastras ke anusar, yagya ko poorn roop se sampann karne ke liye patni ki upasthiti anivarya hoti hai. Jab yagya ka shubh muhurat nazdeek aaya aur Savitri, Brahma Ji ki patni, yagya sthal par nahi pahunchi, to Brahma Ji ne Nandini gai ke mukh se Gayatri ko prakat kiya aur unse vivaah kar yagya ko poora kiya.
Jab Savitri yagya sthal par pahunchi aur dekha ki Brahma Ji ke bagal mein Gayatri bethi hain, to ve krodhit ho gayi. Unhone Brahma Ji ko shrap de diya ki prithvi par log unhe bhool jayenge aur kahin bhi unki puja nahi hogi. Devtaon ki prarthana par Savitri ka krodh thoda shant hua aur unhone kaha ki Brahma Ji ka keval Pushkar mein hi mandir hoga aur wahi unki puja hogi. Isliye, anya kahin bhi Brahma Ji ka mandir nahi hai.
Savitri ka krodh yahin nahi ruka. Unhone vivaah karane wale brahmin ko bhi shrap diya ki chahe jitna bhi daan mile, brahmin kabhi santusht nahi hoga. Gai ko Kalyug mein gandagi khane ka aur Narad Muni ko aajeevan kuwara rahne ka shrap diya. Agnidev bhi Savitri ke krodh se nahi bach paye aur unhe bhi Kalyug mein apamanit hone ka shrap mila.
Pushkar ki Vartaman Sthiti aur Mahattva:
Aaj bhi Pushkar ek mahatvapurn dharmik sthal hai, jahan har saal bade sankhya mein bhakt darshan karne aur puja archana karne aate hain. Yahan Kartik maas mein aayojit oont mela vishesh roop se prasiddh hai. Is mele mein desh-videsh se log aate hain, jo is kshetra ki sanskritik aur dharmik samriddhi ko darshata hai. जब सावित्री यज्ञ स्थल पर पहुंचीं और देखा कि ब्रह्मा जी के बगल में गायत्री बैठी हैं, तो वे क्रोधित हो गईं। उन्होंने ब्रह्मा जी को श्राप दे दिया कि पृथ्वी पर लोग उन्हें भूल जाएंगे और कहीं भी उनकी पूजा नहीं होगी। देवताओं की प्रार्थना पर सावित्री का क्रोध थोड़ा शांत हुआ और उन्होंने कहा कि ब्रह्मा जी का केवल पुष्कर में ही मंदिर होगा और वहीं पर उनकी पूजा होगी। इस प्रकार, अन्य कहीं भी ब्रह्मा जी का कोई मंदिर नहीं है।
सावित्री का क्रोध यहीं नहीं रुका। उन्होंने विवाह कराने वाले ब्राह्मण को भी श्राप दिया कि चाहे कितना भी दान मिले, ब्राह्मण कभी संतुष्ट नहीं होगा। गाय को कलयुग में गंदगी खाने का और नारद मुनि को आजीवन कुवारा रहने का श्राप दिया। अग्निदेव भी सावित्री के क्रोध से नहीं बच पाए और उन्हें भी कलयुग में अपमानित होने का श्राप मिला।

This is why there are no temples dedicated to Brahma Ji anywhere else.
