Sanatan dharm mein har parampara ke peeche ek gehra adhyatmik arth chhupa hota hai. Shivling par doodh chadhaane ki pratha bhi ek aam kriya nahi hai. Ye hamare dharm aur sanskriti ke saath judi ek aisi parampara hai, jo sirf adhyatmikta ko hi nahi, balki jeevan mein santulan aur positivity ko bhi badhava deti hai. Shivling par doodh chadhaana khaas kar somvaar ke din atyant shubh maana gaya hai.
Dharmik manyataon ke anusaar, Shivling ka doodh se Rudrabhishek karne se sabhi manokamnaayein poori hoti hain. Somvaar ke din doodh ka daan chandrama ko mazboot banata hai aur mansik tanav ko kam karta hai. Agar jal mein thoda doodh milaakar snaan kiya jaye, to yah na sirf man ko shanti pradaan karta hai, balki chintaon ko bhi door karta hai. Dharmshastron mein gaay ke doodh ko sarvadhik pavitra aur saatvik maana gaya hai. Shivji ke Rudrabhishek mein iska khaas prayog kiya jaata hai. Agar yah Abhishek somvaar ke din kiya jaye, to iska fal aur bhi shubh hota hai. Vishesh roop se, somvaar ki raat ko chandi ke sikke aur thoda sa shahad milaakar doodh ko chandrama ki roshni mein rakhne aur “ॐ दारिद्र्य दुख दहनाय नमः शिवाय” mantra ka jaap karne se daridrata door hoti hai. Pooja ke baad is doodh ko prasad ke roop mein grahan karna atyant phaldayak hota hai.
Samudra Manthan ki katha humein sikhaati hai ki tyaag aur balidaan ka kya mahatva hai. Jab samudra manthan ke dauraan kaalkoot vish utpann hua, to uski teevrata se teenon lok sankat mein aa gaye. Tab Bhagwan Shiv ne sansaar ki raksha ke liye us vish ka paan kiya. Vish peene se unka kanth neela pad gaya aur ve ‘Neelkanth’ ke naam se prasiddh hue. Vish ke prabhaav ko kam karne ke liye sabhi devi-devtaon ne unhe doodh grahan karne ka agrah kiya. Jaise hi Shiv ne doodh grahan kiya, unke shareer mein vish ka prabhaav kam hone laga.
Yahi wajah hai ki Shivling par doodh chadhaane ki parampara ka aarambh hua. Ye na sirf Bhagwan Shiv ko prasann karne ka madhyam hai, balki unki kripa se jeevan mein shanti aur samriddhi laane ka bhi raasta hai. In sacred texts, cow’s milk is regarded as the purest and most satvik substance, making it a significant offering during Lord Shiva’s Rudrabhishek. When this ritual is performed on Mondays, its benefits are even greater. Particularly on Monday nights, mixing a silver coin and a little honey in milk, placing it under the moonlight, and chanting the mantra “Om Daridrya Dukha Dahanaya Namah Shivaya” is believed to dispel poverty. The story of the Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean) illustrates the importance of sacrifice and devotion. During the Samudra Manthan, the deadly poison Kalakuta emerged, threatening all three worlds. To save creation, Lord Shiva consumed the poison, which turned his throat blue, earning him the name Neelkanth. To reduce the poison’s effect, the gods offered him milk, which soothed him and mitigated the poison’s impact. This marks the origin of the tradition of offering milk on the Shivling. It is not merely an act to please Lord Shiva but also a way to invite peace and prosperity into one’s life through his divine blessings.
