Aisa kaha jaata hai ki kali mata keval unhi bhakton ko sharaab ka bhog leti hain jo yah sachche man se unhein yah prasad chadhate hai jinki manokamnaayen aur ichchhaayen poori honi hoti hain. Sthaaniya buzurgon ke anusar ek prachalit kahani yah hai ki is sthaan par dakuon ke ek samooh ko shahi sena ne gher liya tha. Mrityu ko nikat aata dekh use apni maa ki yaad aayi. Mata ne apne prataap se dakuon ko bhedi-bakariyon ke jhund mein badal diya. Is prakaar dakuon ki jaan bach gayi. Tab unhone yahan ek mandir banane ka aadesh diya. Mandir ke garbhagrih mein devi maan ki do moortiyaan sthapit hain. Daayein or Brahmani mata, ko meetha prasad diya jaata hai. Yah shraddha ke aadhaar par laddoo, peda ya kuch bhi ho sakta hai. देवी माँ के इस मंदिर मे चढ़ाई जाती है ढाई प्याला शराब
क्या आप ऐसे किसी मंदिर के बारे में जानते हैं जिसकी विशेषता अन्य मंदिरों और शक्तिपीठों से अलग हो? नागौर जिले के भनवाल गांव में स्थित भनवाल माता मंदिर की कहानी थोड़ी अलग है। अन्य देवी मंदिरों के विपरीत यहां देवी को न केवल लड्डू, पेड़ा या बर्फी का नहीं अपितु शराब का भोग लगाया जाता है। वह भी ढाई प्याला शराब. ये बात थोड़ी अजीब लग सकती है, लेकिन ये सच है. किन्तु हर भक्त इसे नहीं चढ़ा सकता. इसी उद्देश्य से अनुयायियों को आस्था की कसौटी पर भी परखा जाता है। देवी मां को प्रसाद चढ़ाने आने वाले भक्तों के पास अगर बीड़ी, सिगरेट, जर्दा, तंबाकू, चमड़े की बेल्ट, चमड़े का पर्स आदि है तो उन्हें शराब चढ़ाने की इजाजत नहीं है।
इस मंदिर में नशे के रूप में नहीं बल्कि प्रसाद के रूप में शराब चढ़ाई जाती है। काली माता केवल ढाई कप शराब का सेवन करती हैं। मंदिर का पुजारी चांदी के प्याले में शराब भरता है, आंखें बंद कर लेता है और देवी मां से प्रसाद ग्रहण करने के लिए कहता है। थोड़ी देर बाद कप से शराब गायब हो जाती है। ऐसा तीन बार किया जाता है. ऐसी मान्यता है जब प्रसाद का प्याला तीसरी बार छड़ाया जाता है तब वह आधा भरा रह जाता है। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि काली माता केवल उन्हीं भक्तों को शराब का भोग लेती हैं जो यह सच्चे मन से उन्हें यह प्रसाद चढ़ाते है जिनकी मनोकामनाएं और इच्छाएं पूरी होनी होती हैं इस मंदिर को प्राचीन हिन्दू स्थापत्य कला के अनुसार तराशे गए पत्थरों को आपस में जोड़ कर बनाया गया है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि प्राचीन समय में भंवर मां स्वयं एक पेड़ के नीचे जमीन से निकली थीं।
करीब 800 साल पुराने इस मंदिर का निर्माण किसी धार्मिक व्यक्ति या सज्जन व्यक्ति ने नहीं, बल्कि डाकुओं ने करवाया था। स्थानीय बुजुर्गों के अनुसार एक प्रचलित कहानी यह है कि इस स्थान पर डाकुओं के एक समूह को शाही सेना ने घेर लिया था। मृत्यु को निकट आता देख उसे अपनी माँ की याद आयी। माता ने अपने प्रताप से डाकुओं को भेड़-बकरियों के झुण्ड में बदल दिया। इस प्रकार डाकुओं की जान बच गयी। तब उन्होंने यहां एक मंदिर बनाने का आदेश दिया। मंदिर के गर्भगृह में देवी मां की दो मूर्तियां स्थापित हैं। दाएं ओर ब्रह्माणी माता, को मीठा प्रसाद दिया जाता है। यह श्रद्धा के आधार पर लड्डू, पेड़ा या कुछ भी हो सकता है। बाएं ओर की दूसरी मूर्ति में काली माता को शराब परोसते हुए दर्शाया गया है। यहां अनगिनत भक्त अपनी मनोकामनाएं लेकर आते हैं। अपनी मनोकामना पूरी होने पर भक्त देवी मां को धन्यवाद देने के लिए दोबारा यहां आते हैं। जय माता दी।

This temple is made of stones carved according to ancient Hindu architecture. It is believed that in ancient times, Bhadrawati Mata emerged from the ground under a tree.
