Hum sab jaante hain ki Ravan ek mahaan aur shaktishaali raja tha, jo sone ki Lanka mein niwas karta tha. Lekin kya aap jaante hain ki uski Lanka ke jalne ke peeche ek aur mahatvapurn kaaran bhi tha? Prachalit manyata ke anusaar, Lanka ki aag ka ek bada kaaran Ravan ke pita ko mili sharaab bhi thi. Aayiye, is raaz ko vistaar se jaante hain aur iske peeche ki kahani par gaur karte hain.

Ek baar maa Parvati ne Bhagwan Vishnu aur maa Lakshmi ko Kailash par bhojan par amantrit kiya. Yeh nimantran kisi saamaanya bhojan ke liye nahi tha, balki yeh ek mahatvapurn samaroh tha, jismein devtaon ki upasthiti bahut avashyak thi. Maa Lakshmi ne Parvati se poocha ki unhone apne jeevan ka adhikansh bhaag rajkumari ki tarah vyatit kiya hai, to woh itni thandi hawaon ke beech kaise rah leti hain. Maa Lakshmi ke is sawaal se mata Parvati kaafi aahat hui. Unka maanna tha ki yeh sawaal unki garima ko thess pahunchane wala tha. Kuch dino baad maa Lakshmi ne Devi Parvati ko apne Vaikunth dham aane ka nyota diya, jisse unhe apni mitrata ko aur bhi majboot karne ka avsar mila. Is nimantran par maa Parvati aur Bhagwan Shiv Vaikunth dham pahunche. Wahan Vaikunth ki vaibhav aur aishwarya dekhkar Devi Parvati ne Bhagwan Shiv se ek atyant vaibhavshali mahal ka nirmaan karne ki prarthana ki. Unka sapna tha ki ve ek aisa mahal banvaayein, jo na sirf sundarta mein adwitiya ho, balki usmein sabhi devi-devtaon ke liye aaramdayak aur akarshak sthal ho. Is par Bhagwan Shiv ne mata Parvati ko bahut samjhaane ki koshish ki, lekin jab woh nahi maani, to Bhagwan Shiv ne Vishwakarma ji ko mahal nirmaan ka karya saup diya.
Vishwakarma ji ne sone ka ek bhavy mahal tayyar kiya. Mahal ka nirmaan bahut hi dhyanpoorvak kiya gaya tha, jismein har ek kone mein utkrshta aur kalatmakta ka pradarshan kiya gaya. Jab mahal tayyar ho gaya, to maa Parvati ne sabhi devi-devtaon ko wahan amantrit kiya. Mahal ki bhavyata dekhkar Ravan ke pita Rishi Vishrava ka mann dol gaya. Unhone Bhagwan Shiv se us mahal ko daan mein maang liya. Bhagwan Shiv ne unhe niraash nahi kiya aur mahal ko unhe daan mein de diya, lekin yeh daan maa Parvati ko bahut dukha pahunchane wala tha. Is ghatna se maa Parvati ko bahut dukha hua aur krodhit hokar unhone Rishi Vishrava ko daan mein diye gaye mahal ko jalane ka shraap de diya. Kaha jaata hai ki unke shraap ke prabhav se Hanuman ji ne sone ki Lanka ko jalakar bhasm kar diya. Yeh ghatna sirf ek pal ki ghatna nahi thi, balki yeh ek mahatvapurn mod tha, jisne Ravan ki shaktiyon ko kamzor kar diya. Is tarah, sone ki Lanka jalne ke peeche Rishi Vishrava ko mili sharaab ka bhi yogdaan tha, jo unke lalach ke kaaran unhe mili thi.
Is kahani se humein yeh sikhne ko milta hai ki lalach aur abhilasha ke parinaam hamesha bhayanak ho sakte hain. Ravan ki Lanka ka jalna sirf ek ghatna nahi, balki yeh humein jeevan ke kuch mahatvapurn siddhanton ki yaad dilati hai. Humein chahiye ki hum apne swarth aur lalach se door rahein aur doosron ke sukh-dukh ka dhyan rakhein.
